The plant provides steam ironing increased efficiency compared to a traditional iron. The steam plant can indeed deliver steam at high pressure, to detangle and hydrate the fibers of a fabric at once. This is reflected particularly by saving precious time without affecting the quality of the ironing.
Of course these advantages result in a relatively high price and it is therefore important to learn about the characteristics of the steam plant before making a purchase. Here is a list of parameters it is good to check:
1. Pressure steam. To penetrate the thicker tissues such as certain cotton, it must reach at least 3.5 bar. Whereas a steam iron produces about 20 to 40 g / min steam flow minimum recommended for a steam plant is about 70 g / min.
2. Heating time. This can vary from 30 seconds to 8 minutes depending on the model. Reduce the heating time can save time and reduce electricity consumption.
3. Autonomy. Ideally it should be unlimited. The time required to produce the steam decreases as the water can be added to the tank at any time without having to cool it as limited user. Clearly, unlimited autonomy essentially means that the steam plant can be used continuously and the ironing will be uninterrupted.
4. The tank. A removable reservoir makes filling and cleaning easier. To ensure proper operation of the plant and ensure its longevity, it is indeed crucial to be able to easily remove the limestone. This procedure can be simplified by anti limestone cartridges compatible with certain models of steam generators. It is also advisable to choose a model whose resistance is placed outside the tank to facilitate scaling.
5. Weight. The weight of a steam power plant can sometimes reach almost 7 pounds. Nevertheless, it is important to take into account the weight of iron. The latter should ideally weigh about 1 kilo, so as not to cause unnecessary fatigue to the user.
